Von Bertouch in doubt for Sydney Test

By Netball Australia

Australian Diamonds vice captain Natalie von Bertouch is in doubt for the first Holden Netball Test against the New Zealand Silver Ferns on Sunday at Acer Arena.

After a collision in the opening minute of last night’s match against the World Selection team, x-rays today indicated von Bertouch has a minor injury to the chest wall with medical staff giving the star centre a 50/50 chance of taking the court this weekend.

Von Bertouch did not travel with the team to Sydney today and will be monitored by medical staff, with coach Norma Plummer to make a decision on her availability in the coming days. Young midcourt player and Australian 21/U captain Madison Browne will be brought into Sydney on standby should von Bertouch not be deemed fit.

Adelaide Thunderbirds goal shooter Kate Beveridge will come into the Diamonds team for the Holden Netball Test Series replacing Caitlin Thwaites.
