New Idea helps Canberra Darters turn pink
By David Packwood
New Idea magazine has donated $2,000 to the McGrath Foundation ahead of tomorrow night’s Australian Netball League game between the Canberra Darters and Singapore at the AIS Arena.
The match is a major fundraiser with Netball ACT donating half of the gate takings to the McGrath Foundation, which raises money to place McGrath Breast Care Nurses throughout rural and regional Australia as well as educating young women to be breast aware.
Netball ACT CEO Noel Harrod thanked New Idea for its generous donation.
“New Idea is the naming rights sponsor of the Australian National League and is proud to donate money to support the McGrath Foundation,” Harrod said.
“Netball ACT, along with New Idea, urges the Canberra community to attend Friday night’s match in big numbers so we can raise significant money for the McGrath Foundation.”
“It’s going to be a fun night out for all the family with everyone encouraged to wear something PINK – the primary colours of both the Canberra Darters and McGrath Foundation.”
The Good Guys have also got behind Friday night’s game by kindly donating a PINK Samsung Camera valued at $250 to be given away at halftime to the best dressed fan in PINK.
Tickets for the Friday night’s match are available through Ticketek or at the door.
