SA retained the lead for the majority of the game after a close opening term, with SA’s goal shooting finesse the difference between the two states.

QLD scored the first goal of the first quarter, with the score going goal for goal.

SA levelled the score to 3-all and followed with a fourth goal, but QLD soon retaliated with sharp shooting from Ameliaranne Wells.

SA fought back to take the lead 10-9 at the end of the first quarter with some quick passing in the SA goal circle.

QLD began the second quarter strongly, scoring the first goal, with centre Claire Haigh providing good passes and moving the ball quickly down to QLD’s goals.

SA stayed in the game with accurate goal shooting and despite trailing at the beginning of the quarter, was level with QLD 17-all the end of the quarter.

QLD once again scored the first goal of the third quarter, and efficient passing in the midcourt allowed QLD to score again after a goal from SA.

The SA shooting duo dominated the third quarter, scoring 10 goals between them to take the lead at the end of the third quarter, 27-23.

The fourth quarter was tightly contested, with each team fighting hard to bring the ball into the goal circles.

SA scored the first goal, and once again dominated the quarter, despite goals from QLD and strong defence from QLD’s goal defence Chanel Gomes.

SA’s goal scoring ability was too powerful for QLD’s defences, with SA finishing strongly at the end of the fourth quarter to take the win, 35-30.

QLD will take on the Northern Territory in Round 7 while SA will take on Australian Capital Territory in their last game before the Finals Series.
