Game Report: New South Wales have put on an impressive performance, downing the Australian Capital Territory, 52-11 in the third round of the 19/U DealsDirect.com.au Netball Championships at ETSA Park. The early signs were not promising for the ACT, as NSW piled on 12 unanswered goals in the first quarter with NSW goal shooter, Melissa Tallent shooting at 100 per cent. ACT scored their first goal in the dying seconds of the first term to finish the quarter 12-1 down. NSW won the second quarter in brilliant fashion, dominating possession across court building up a comfortable 28-3 advantage going into the half-time break. A slightly tighter second half saw ACT come out fighting. NSW scored 11 goals to ACT’s four in the third quarter, extending the margin out to 32 goals, 39-7. Both sides made changes at the three quarter time, but once again NSW pulled ahead. ACT fought hard to the last whistle but couldn’t match the all-court pressure and intensity of NSW, who finished the game with a 41 goal victory, 52-11. ACT will look to get their first win of the championship in round four, when they take on Western Australia, while NSW will play Queensland later this evening.
