Game Report: Western Australia defeated Singapore, 78-29 to win the first match held in Singapore. Western Australia exerted pressure on Singapore right from the start of the game, which cost Singapore to lose their centre passes which Western Australia quickly converted. They kept Singapore quiet though the quarter, ending the 1st quarter at 2-25. In the 2nd quarter, Lin Qingyi started in place of Serene Lim and this reaped results for team Singapore. Singapore came back stronger, were less nervous and the attackers were able to connect passes to their shooters better. The defenders also stepped up with some good tips and interceptions. The quarter ended at 10-18, with the half time score 12-43. In the 3rd quarter, Western Australia continued to show their impressive vision, good timing and strong passes. They kept the Singaporeans at bay and finished the quarter with a sore of 19-61. In the last quarter, Singapore’s shooters, Diana (GA) and Rachel (GS), played remarkably well with good movements and shooting. That narrowed the score gap between the two teams. Singapore played their best quarter but could not match up, and were defeated by the stronger opponents. The final score was 29-78
