Game Report: Victoria will get the change to avenge last year’s defeat after they booked a spot in the 19/U Grand Final with a 35-19 victory over Queensland on Tuesday afternoon at the Silverdome in Launceston, Tasmania. Victoria, undefeated after eight games at this year’s competition, become the first team to secure their spot in the decider and will head into tomorrow’s Grand Final looking to secure the state’s first 19/U Nationals title in five years. With Queensland trailing 10-4 at quarter-time, any chance of a comeback was snuffed out shortly after when they were held to just two goals and four goals in the second and third quarters respectively. Queensland were starved of opportunities in the middle quarters with only eight attempts while Victoria forged ahead with 16 goals during that period to lead 21-6 at half-time and 25-10 at three-quarter time. The final quarter was a tough battle with both sides converting nine goals apiece before the final whistle confirmed Victoria’s second consecutive 19/U Grand Final while Queensland will be left to battle for bronze.
